Why trendy diets don’t work in the long run
Short term quick fixes are not the best solutions!

While it’s true low-calorie diets will quickly cause weight loss in most people, its long term benefits are limited.

The reality is that such diets see quick results because water is drained from the body and is regained just as fast once the resumption of normal eating takes place ultimately leading to weight gain Here’s a look at some popular diets:

Jenny Craig is a basic weight loss diet option. The formula? Eat less calories and exercise. The interesting thing about JC is that you get a personal weight loss expert to help motivate. The downside is that you have to purchase her expensive pre-packaged meals every week.

Other diets:

Zone diet was created by bio-chemist Barry Sears and recommends a 40/30/30 diet scheme. In other words, 40% of calories should be from carbs, 30% from protein, 30% from fat. The biggest drawback with this diet is that people are forced to carefully measure their foods which is complicated if not impractical especially if you live a fast-paced life.

Designed by doctors, the South Beach diet is another low-carb diet and is divided into three phases like the Atkins diet - though it’s not as strict as most diets like Atkins.

Sonoma – includes 3 phases and aims to eliminate processed foods and sugar similar to the other diets. Like South Beach and Atkins it reintroduces certain types of carbs in second phase.

Rice Diet – is a strictly monitored diet created by Duke university to help people with diabetes, hypertension, obesity and heart disease. People who sign up for the diet must visit the Rice Diet Center in Durham, NC and spend four to eight weeks in its facility. It is based on two phases. The fist phases focuses on grains and fruits under medical supervision, the second phase focuses and fish vegetables, beans and carbs.

Cabbage Soup – Designed by the Mayo clinic. While allowing for other types of foods to be consumed, this strategy calls for people to eat cabbage soup in unlimited quantities for seven days. And then return to normal quantities for 14 days and back to the seven-day routine. The truth is that cabbage does not inherently have burning fat properties. The reason it works is because cabbage does not lead to more than 900 calories a day when consumed.

Stop what you’re doing NOW!

While these are some of the most popular diets in society today, they all have one thing in common: they all focus on short term weight loss. Once dieters stop these diets they revert to their old eating habits and this leads to gaining weight again.

Our diet applies a different approach to dieting. We don’t try to work against the body;  we work with it by designing a diet system that understands how the body functions. In this way, we accomplish things other diets can’t provide: a strategy that works and helps dieters maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle  for as long as they desire.

Food is NOT the enemy!

All these diets presume that food is the enemy. How can food be bad for you? You need it to nourish your body. Cutting back to the point of near starvation is not the way to live. Let us help you enjoy food and life again and in the process LOSE WEIGHT!
